F.U.E.L. is an online educational resource for college students, college professionals and food security organizations to learn more about food literacy, food security and occupational therapy. Food security in college can be especially challenging so F.U.E.L is here to help with resources on how to eat, use, and learn about food. F.U.E.L addresses the steps involved in planning, managing, selecting, preparing and eating meals. Even though this website is tailored to college students, it can be used by anyone who may be experiencing food insecurity.

The resources on this website are informed by prior research, a small research study with college students and a needs assessment with twelve college professionals and three basic needs organizations. The goal of this website is to help college students to provide education and access to resources that will support their food security and a fuel their academic journey.
This website was developed in partial fulfillment of the author’s Doctorate of Occupational Therapy Degree. It is the author’s intention that this website be an interactive and positive resource for college student to learn more about food insecurity. Through an occupational therapy lens, food security is not just access to food but the ability to use that food and support a healthy lifestyle. The educational resources available cover various aspects of food literacy, food justice and the daily activities that impact (or are impacted by) food security.
